Play is an upcoming Bollywood thriller film directed by late Shamin Desai,[1] and will be based on Media and Politics, following the lines from Rann. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Neha Dhupia, Sagarika Ghatge and Aditya Pancholi. It was earlier titled 24x7 Raftaar, though after the death of director Desai, the producers of the film retitled it.

The storyline is based on the life of an acclaimed news Reporter (Emraan Hashmi). His personal life and television talk show are at the pinnacle of success. His show is constantly in the limelight for expose's on politics to prostitution to the underground activities of Delhi. His life takes a U-turn when his bosses find his show to be too controversial for primetime TV... His next assignment offered by a dynamic media tycoon (played by Aditya Pancholi) plunges him into a vortex of violence in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Beneath the veneer of glamour, money, power and the enviable life of media, lays a truth that is at once unbelievable and shocking.
The film was earlier titled 24x7 Raftaar, by director Shamin Desai. Though after death of director Desai, the film was rumored to be shelved. Though on Diwali 2011, distributors Percept Picture Company, it was announced the film was re-produced, currently under-production, and retitled to Play. In Delhi, the film will complete shooting as soon as Emraan Hashmi completes his schedule for Jannat 2.
